This camping-themed cake is s'mores flavor: graham-cracker cake, marshmallow and chocolate filling. The whole thing was, in fact, supposed to look like a giant melty s'more.
The traditional birthday candles were placed in the "campfire," and all the pieces were made from fondant.
Serve with your best ghost story.
Serena, this was your best cake ever, and I'm not just saying that because I was the primary beneficiary. You have to point out all its features, babe! Tent made of graham crackers, tree made from a sugar cone, hiking boots, wood grain on the firewood--backpack with stitching, for criminy pete! Not to mention the most adorable fondant raccoon ever seen. It looked so cool when lit, too. You outdid yourself.
